This spectacular action movie is based on the 80s video game of the same name. Director Brad Payton is working together again with Dwayne Johnson after disaster film 'San Andreas'. Those who knew the game are probably familiar with the story: huge genetically mutated animal-monsters are tearing through North America. Only one man can stop them.
Primatologist Davis Okoye is kind of a loner, he doesn't really let other people get close to him. But he shares a special bond with George, an intelligent silverback gorilla who has been in his care since birth. All goes well until a shady corporation's gene mutating experiments go awry, and suddenly hell breaks loose as several oversized and agressive animals (including a wolf, a crocodile and George himself) start to destroy the city. Davis teams up with Dr. Kate Caldwell (Naomie Harris) to find an antidote and save the world from the threatening catastrophe. He also wants to save the gorilla that was once his friend, not to mention that if they could persuade him, George could be a great help for them in the battle.
