Unbelievable as it may sound, we had to wait almost 50 years to see a big screen adaptation of Neil Armstrong's life, although his 'small' step was an important milestone in the history of humankind. This movie presents the event from a special perspective, inviting the audience to an amazing journey.
Damien Chazelle, the director of 'Whiplash' and 'La La Land' brings the unique and sometimes horroristic world of space flights unbelievably close to us, so the audience can experience the wonderful but also terrifying feeling of discovering the universe in a fragile spacecraft. Unique visuals and beautiful music will help us to feel involved, as Armstrong was an inscrutable man, and though driven by determination, he lived his life rather quietly, his reserved demeanor making him appear to many as unknowable. Ryan Gosling was a perfect choice for the role, luckily he is able to make the person of Armstrong relatable to the public. This film is also about the astronauts who didn't live to see the final success of the great mission.
